"The Diabolical Deed at    the Starlight Theatre"

                                                  An old-fashioned Melodrama

                                                     by Cheri L. Maxson

                       Synopsis

The box office money has been stolen and Crystal Chanda Lear has been kidnapped! Three rival gangs do their best to run off with the charity funds raised by the Starlight Theatre to be given to the orphanage. A posse is formed and Sheriff Dusty Rhodes always gets his man…or woman! This rollicking melodrama features a primarily female cast (with many roles easily gender adaptable) and is fast-paced and full of gags, puns, chases and silliness that will appeal to all ages. It’s also a great one act show to get young actor’s feet wet on the melodrama stage. Simple sets, props and costumes bring to life the wild old west days and the fun of classic melodrama. “The Diabolical Deed at the Starlight Theatre” or “How Many Villains Does It Take to Steal the Loot?” will make audiences laugh out loud.
