                                          SYNOPSIS
​

“GRANDMA ROSIE”  is a short comedy in three acts, well-suited for a Junior High cast.

Rosie is a 94 year old woman who lives alone in her home. She is still spry, but her memory is not what it was.

Rosie is fortunate to have a loving family who frequently looks in after her. Her grand daughter, Sara, is her main  support.

But with Rosie, the most prosaic incident, can turn into an unexpected major incident. The play present three “molehills” that Rosie turns into “mountains.

Rosie
 
A 94 year old grandmother. She is spry. Her long term memory is in                      tact. But her short term memory is not what it was. 

Sara
Rosie’s attractive  grand daughter. She is a widowed mother of a 12 year old girl.
She is 35 to 40 years of  age. She is a business woman.
 

Clyde
                                  
Rosie’s 70 year old son. Sara's father.

Kate
Rosie’s daughter-in-law. Slightly younger than Clyde. Sara’s mother.


Stanley or Samantha Frank
                                   
Vice President of the Sauk State Bank.


Sheriff
[M or F]
                                                         The local sheriff


​Voice on the roof
            
A roofing contractor. (Could be same actor as Stanley Frank)




                        THE LOCATION AND TIME


    The action takes place in Rosie’s living room. The time is the present.
